Is Seventh-day Adventism a cult? Are SDA teachings heretical? Many struggle to define marginal movements like Adventism because their doctrinal roots are more cultic than their current teachings. Ruth Tucker, an award-winning historian of missions and author of the well-known book "Another Gospel," analyzes the problematic teachings of Adventism while showing that the group defies categorization as a non-Christian sect.

A history of the dialog between evangelical Christians and Seventh-day Adventists which began in the 1950s, and the controversy inside the movement which led to the crisis of the 1980s. The controversy highlighted 2 divisions within Adventism -- evangelical Adventists and traditional Adventists. Justification by faith, the human nature of Christ, the events of 1844, the assurance of salvation, and the authority of Ellen White were among the core issues involved.

To share the Good News with Adventists who haven't grasped and accepted the genuine Gospel in its entirety, we must first show them the truths in God's Word. Some writings by Ellen White and other Adventists can also help us to lead the hesitant to the light of Christ. This article is meant to help Christians to share the Gospel with Adventists who do not understand that salvation is based on faith alone and not on the following the Law.
